Insight
by
Willow had been experiencing horrendous nightmares as far back as she could remember, never really understanding what they meant. However, she eventually learns the truth about her role in life. Not only does she discover she has wonderful, mystical powers, shes also learns about the true love of a faithful and devoted soul mate who has crossed the natural boundaries of time and space to be with her. Unfortunately before she has the opportunity to fully lose herself in her new reality, a dark, malevolen force threatens to destroy not only her life, but also the lives of her family and friends therefore forcing Willow into a showdown with the manifestation of her greatest fears, with everything she holds dear to her heart and soul at stake.
Since I started reading and reviewing works by new and seasoned authors that were new to me, I have found it to be a wonderful surprise, much like unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning. I was very impressed with the creativity and imagination dipicted by Jamie that shown through in Insight. I found it pleasing that I could not put the book down, and it held my interest from page one, right up till the end. I look forward to reading more of Jamie's work.
Wonderfully composed, Insight is a highly compelling fantasy tale. Author Jamie Magee loses the reader in a magical world with all of the components that make up a spellbinding novel, ie; mystery, danger, action, love and adventure. She pulls the reader into this paranormal world, feeling and experiencing what the characters did. I personally was able to forget about the problems that I may have been having in my life, and let my imagination run hand in hand with Willows trials and triumphs.
I proudly and without hesitation give Insight by Jamie Magee five stars *****

I just finished reading Insight by Jamie and I loved it and was thrilled when I knew I had Embody following right behind it! I just love it when that happens!! And of course she did not disappoint me, it was as great as I expected and even more.
----------
There is a typical synopsis that goes along with Embody and I read it and I will use it as well because it does describe what the book is about and what it has to offer the reader.
Not many Scorpio's are known for their patience, and Willow Haywood is no different. Her only desire is to love Landen Chambers and redeem the lost souls of Esterious, but the path to that desire is long, dark and dangerous...
Before Willow's life had a chance to balance the sudden revelations and grief she had to endure to get to Chara, a disturbing discovery is made. A photo, one that shows Willow blissfully embracing the flawless image of Drake Bakeshire; giving her not only proof that she had lived before, but that she had loved him.
Running away from the memory of Drake's hypnotizing touch, and the prophecy set before her seemed like the logical thing to do. That is, until a dark dream reignites her passion to save the hopeless dimension of Esterous. Willow struggles to find patience-to learn everything she needs to know before she faces Drake again, but her eagerness is dangerous and one step in the wrong direction takes everything and everyone away from her-the only way to survive this trial is for Willow to remember who she is and what she really wants out of this life. The question is.....can she do that?

Now, as said before this is the second book in the series and in order to totally understand what you are reading, you need to read the first one, Insight. This book fasinates me because it takes the reader into different dimensions that has true love, powers, magic etc. all the goodies! Jamie's descriptive writing and imagination was beautifully detailed to the point you could see it in your mind, and could feel yourself there. I found Embody stirred up a lot of emotions as I read it. I found I was laughing at times, almost in tears another, angry yet in another part of the story. It was like a rollercoaster ride and I loved it!
I would HIGHLY recommend Insight and Embody to all paranormal lovers. And even if you do not read paranormal, give this a try, you will not be sorry.
I give Embody five stars. *****

About the Author
Jamie Magee
Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

My Interview With Author
RHA:Where are you from?
I was raised in Franklin, TN, and I still live close to this beautiful historic town that sits just south of Nashville.
My Interview With Author
I was raised in Franklin, TN, and I still live close to this beautiful historic town that sits just south of Nashville.
RHA:Tell us your latest news?
My third novel, Image, will be released on November 8th – I’m really excited about this novel – it takes the reader to a darker place and pulls the emotions of the heart.
RHA:When and why did you begin writing?
I began writing in January of 2010. I’ve always been an avid daydreamer – one day a daydream was so powerful, I had to see where it would take me. That was the beginning of Insight, and my writing career.
RHA:When did you first consider yourself a writer?
To this day I have a hard time with that title. I really see myself as a daydreamer who has friends, and readers that enjoy stepping into my imagination with me.
RHA:What inspired you to write your first book?
I love the quote “If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it” by Toni Morrison. I have read and watched beautiful love stories my entire life, and each time I would imagine how I would have changed it – what would have taken me further into the story. The craving for the story I wanted to read became so strong that my imagination took over, and the words of Insight began to flow.
RHA:Do you have a specific writing style?
I write what I see. My daydreams play out like a movie in my mind – that aspect has come out in my writing. I’m not sure if that would be a style or not, but that is the way my stories come to life J
RHA:How did you come up with the title?
The entire time I was writing Insight I called it ‘Gifted’. One day I was strolling through the local book store and noticed that titled had been taken. I thought and debated for weeks on what I would call my debut – my series. One night I came home with a list of names I’d come up with throughout the day. As I watched my husband read them it was clear that he didn’t care for any of them. I let out a frustrated sigh as I leaned my head against the kitchen counter. At that moment my young children started to sing along with the IPod that was playing in the background of the kitchen. “When darkness turns to light it ends tonight – it ends tonight – just a little INSIGHT will make this right.’ I raised my head to see my husband smiling down at me. I’d bought that song because it reminded me of Willow and Landen’s first fight in the Insight series.
It always amazes me that one way or another you find the answers you seek.
RHA:Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
A very simple message; at the moment of our birth we are all given a divine gift. Your purpose is unique to your soul.
RHA:How much of the book is realistic?
I feel that the relationships, the love between family, friends and soul mates is very real. The other elements, the Zodiac, past lives, alternative dimensions, and out of body experiences could easily be debated, yet then again in the broad world we live in I’m sure I could find someone that believed these elements to be fact and not theory.
RHA:Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
None at all – pure imagination brought this story to life.
RHA:What books have most influenced your life most?
Every book I have ever read inspires me as a writer. There are few that have caused me to change life styles or the way I see myself. Both are non fiction. The first is “The only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need” by Joanna Maritne Wookfolk. This book allowed me to deeply explore the field of Astrology. I often refer back to this especially when I meet someone new or create a new character. The second book is “The skinny Bitch” after reading this book I started to see food – how it was made differently. My entire family changed our eating habits after reading only the first few chapters.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
J.K Rowling. Even though my books are in a far different world than hers I admire how she builds worlds, and captures the imagination of all of her readers.
RHA:What book are you reading now?
Sunrise at Sunset by Jaz Primo J
RHA:Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
All of the authors on the Romancing Your Dark Side Tour have caught my attention. We are a very diverse group of authors and I can’t not wait to read the works behind each personality.
RHA:Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
I’m not sure if it would be called an entity, but my answer is faith. I’ve found that you have to believe that what you are doing with your life is right, that it is what you are meant to do, in order to have anything close to success.
RHA:Do you see writing as a career?
I do, and I can only hope that one day it will be my sole career. Right now writing is a beautiful escape.
RHA:If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Not at all, the words in my books capture the writer I was at that moment. With each novel I write I see how much I have changed as a writer and a person. To me, those novels are place holders in my life.
RHA:Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
It’s hard to say, I think when I began writing I was in effect trying to make my daydreams real – have them become more than fleeting thoughts. Today it is hard for me to imagine a life without writing or envisioning a story line.
RHA:Can you share a little of your current work with us?
I’ve just begun a new series – one that will collide with the Insight series around book five. Through the eyes of my new characters I was able to see how Willow and her family are seen to others around them. The elements explored in the Insight series are still visible, but new threads are added, the love of music and using this creative art to escape the troubles of the world are used heavily. The relationships step out of the comfort zone of soul mates and reflect the turmoil young hearts often fight as they fall in love. These books have taken me on wild ride of emotions and adventures and I cannot wait to share them.
RHA:Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Seeing my own mistakes – I can read something over and over and never see the words. I constantly find myself falling into the story before me. That is not a good element when it comes to the polishing point in an MS life – thankfully there are a host of great people in my life that can help me with that little quirk.
RHA:Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
It’s just too hard to pick one or even a few authors. I read every genre – and find encouragement to chase this dream in all published works. Over the past two years I’ve managed to stick with a lot of nonfiction – reading about the zodiac, energy, auras, the string theory, dreams ….every topic that I can find that would related to my series.
RHA:Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?
I haven’t traveled at all with my books – but I look forward to when I can. I love meeting people and visiting new places.
RHA:Who designed the covers?
My graphic designer is Tuesday Dube from Dreaming In Purple. She is a very patient, artistic woman and I highly recommend her to everyone who asks. J
RHA:Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
I learned a lot more about the Zodiac. I think most people could tell you what their sun sign is, but this science goes so much deeper than that. It was very eye opening for me to read my own birth chart – in fact it was quiet eerie how much my time of birth played into not only my personality but events in my life.
RHA:Do you have any advice for other writers?
When a story comes to you - write – write as fast as your fingers will let you, and never let anyone tell you no especially yourself!
RHA:Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Each of my readers are nothing less than a blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
